‘Stop the Coup’ Protest after Government Suspend Parliament

Protests in Parliament Square and Whitehall London on 28th August 2019 after Boris Johnson’s decision to suspend Parliament. Protestors chanted ‘Stop the Coup’ and formed a roadblock in Parliament Square as well as blocking the traffic in Whitehall outside 10 Downing Street. The government’s move to suspend Parliament is seen as a dangerous attack on democracy by an unelected leader. ‘No-one Voted for Boris’ was another of the chants.

More protests are planned for 31st August and Tuesday 3rd September. #StopTheCoup #Brexit #suspendparliament
